The New Proats

Oats + protein powder has been a go-to breakfast of mine for years. Quick, easy & sweet tooth satisfied. I’ve done overnight oats–the ultimate lazy way to prepare–microwave, stovetop, you name it, I’ve tried it.

Recently though I made a large batch of quinoa & had plenty leftover so I decided to get a little crazy. Oats & quinoa are similar–they’re in the carb family, I figured why not use them interchangeably..?

Ingredients:

     100g (about 1/2 cup?) cooked quinoa

     1/2 almond milk

     130g (also about 1/2 cup) liquid egg whites

     Chai tea of your choice

     1 scoop cinnamon protein powder

     splash of vanilla

     splash of stevia

Instructions:

Boil almond milk on the stove (careful not to let it burn) simultaneously steep the tea. Turn heat down to medium & add vanilla, stevia & protein powder. Mix well in attempt to get all the lumps out. Pour your liquid egg whites in the mix then lastly add in your quinoa. Mix it all up & let it cook for a few to let the quinoa absorb some of the liquid.

Broil some pecans or walnuts for a few minutes & add those on top for some healthy fats.
